Refrigeration And Air Conditioning (RAC)(22660)
The purpose of a refrigerator is to cool a small area. It accomplishes this by forcing coolant—typically convert from a liquid into a gas through pipes, which is what gives the refrigerator or chill room its cooling effect. After passing the coolant through a condenser, a compressor raises the temperature and pressure to convert the gas back into a liquid so that the procedure can be repeated. Coolant is continuously pumped through the network of tubes to aid with heat dissipation and maintain low temperatures in a small area.
The same concept applies to air conditioning, which further uses the room’s ambient air to heat the space. A coolant is already included in the system. Unlike traditional refrigerators, air conditioners use a lot of ducting and fans to distribute hot or cold air around a building and away from the unit, allowing for a much wider area to be comfortably cool. Unlike in refrigeration, it eliminates heat and moisture to produce a more comfortable working environment when cooling.
